Not sure about your families, but I sometimes get the feeling there is just so many things one could choose to do fun.  I think It might be good to share some of the things that come up. Even if my family chooses not to go, yours may enjoy them.

Also, Astronomy Day is on October 12, 2013 at the George Observatory. This is really neat. Sometimes the professionals allow the kids to view thru there telescopes and the Observatories large telescopes anyone can view thru. Really a neat experience and you can drive there and back or camp at the Brazos Bend Park.
